HT Ignition Leads...REPLY

Hello Dan,
I never used BERU leads... But, it seems that these ones you have bought they are suitable for the Audi/VW 4cylindered engines from 1975 till 1994 and NOT SUITABLE for Audi 100 c1 cars with old Audi "mitteldruck" ENGINES... I did a research in my garage and I took some photos showing the BOSCH set up of Audi 100 c1 leads...

1st
2nd
3rd
4th
 main lead

all of them...

or BLAUPUNKT (surpression kit) with the special leads for our cars...
I think you will not find usefull to have Audi spare part numbers for these leads...
Personaly speaking, I don't trust at all these "MASSIVE" SELLERS of  Automotive spare parts... Most of them are not correct and sometimes the quality of them is not the EXPECTED>>>>

Anyway, if you cannot find any proper set of leads, feel free to contact with me at my personal mail to see if I can find one for you... I think that I still have also the special metal 5 Ohm surpression leads' plugs (BOSCH and BERU)...

Good luck my friend,

HT ignition leads?

Hello Theo,

I have really enjoyed reading your Audivirus blog, keep up the good work!

You may be able to answer a question for me regarding HT ignition cables for the 100

I bought a set on ebay which had the correct description but my mechanic says they are too short and will not fit correctly.
(The cables he removed from the car are the originals and are much longer)
I then went to my local parts shop who kindly checked their system for me but came up with the same set I purchased from ebay and could not find any other set listed for my car.

This set for sale on Ebay
Beru Zundkabel Audi 100 GL C1 1.9 (ZEF 432)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310259564256&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

The lengths of the cables are 44cm 48cm 52cm 68cm, they need to be 250-300 mm longer.

Do you have a part number or can you tell me the correct set to buy?

Kind Regards,
Dan

1974 Audi 100S Coupe RHD Trans swap

So, I have been talking to Theo on this one, and he has been very helpful. I have come across a completely original original owner 1974 Audi 100S Coupe. The owner wants me to do some maintenance on it, and change the gearing for something that is better on the highway. As it is, it turns about 4000RPM's at 70-75mph He would like it about 1000rpm lower at that speed. So, as Theo has suggested, I'd like to find the complete transmission and associated parts needed to swap the original 4-speed and inboard brakes for a later model 5-speed.

I am located in Houston, Texas, USA. We did not recieve the 5-speed with a 4-cyl combination in the 100 LS or the 5000 type43. We did get the 100LS with a 4-speed, and the type 43 with a 5-speed, but only behind the 5-cyl. No 4-cyl type 43's were imported to the US. So, if anyone has the complete setup for conveting this Coupe to a 5-speed, please let me know how much it will be. Oh, and i will also need the rear drums and spindles as well.

Also, if anyone knows the wheel bolt pattern for the stock setup on the car, as well as the 5-speed, please let me know.

I will begin taking pictures and posting them once I get the car here.

Thanks in advance,
Tony
